CHICKENFOOT - featuring former VAN HALEN singer SAMMY HAGAR and bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist JOE SATRIANI and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith are offering fans a very special free Live Concert Webcast: Chickenfoot Presents III on the release date of their forthcoming album Chickenfoot III, September 27th.

At 6 PM (PST) the band will perform tracks from the new album at TRI Studios in Marin County, California and host a 30-minute Q&A; session with the fans at Chickenfoot.us.

“These are exciting times,” said Hagar. “When a band can have the technology to allow them to perform in a state-of-the-art setting and take that performance out around the world is amazing! I’m up for that!”

Fans can submit their questions to be included in the live Q&A; session at Chickenfoot.us leading up to the live webcast. Special promotional opportunities to be a member of the live in-studio audience in the studio will be announced on the band’s social sites. The webcast will rebroadcast on the band’s website on September 28th at 12 noon.

Chickenfoot guitarist Joe Satriani has provided Joe Bosso of MusicRadar.com with a song by song breakdown of the band's new album, Chickenfoot III, which is due in stores September 27th. An excerpt follows:

'Last Temptation' - “Something I tell people at guitar clinics is, ‘All techniques are equal.’ If you don’t know modes, you think they’re exotic and mysterious. But once you know them, you realize that they’re no different from any five-note scale. It’s all music.

“On 'Last Temptation', I didn’t shy away from just slamming down barre chords, because that’s what was needed. At the same time, I combined those chords with super-heavy licks that the whole band would play. I was thinking of ensemble playing with really pounding chords. Lots of exploding and contracting.

“We had a great time arranging this song on the spot. When we record, a lot of times we’ll play a song a few times, and everybody will throw ideas around – Mike (Anthony, bass) or Chad (Smith, drums) will want to shorten a part or change something. This was a pretty fast coming together from the whole band. We played it live and put in a few overdubs – that was it. Very fresh, with everybody tearing in and going for it.”

In the UK, Chickenfoot III will be released on CD, CD/DVD deluxe edition, and 12" vinyl on Monday, October 24th.

Chickenfoot’s self-titled debut album became a real collector’s item due to its never-before-seen packaging initiative; once the front and back covers are touched, the black ink turns transparent, revealing pictures of band members and the album tracklisting.

Chickenfoot III will surely take-on the same level of collectability for its amazing 3-D packaging. All formats will come complete with special Chickenfoot 3-D glasses, which will enable fans to see the cover art and experience 3-D photos of the band. Without the glasses, fans will see only a plain, blank cover, only once the glasses are worn will the artwork come to life.
