CHRIS CAFFERY Continues Work On New Solo Album - "This Record Is A Lot Like Faces; It Has a Wide Spectrum Of Songs"

Guitarist Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) is currently in the studio working on his next solo album. He has checked in with the following update:

"Back to guitar land today. Gonna rest the voice a lil. I also have a few more songs I need to get to Mr. Tichy for drums, 'Damned If You Do, Dead If You Don't' being one. Very metal. 'Too Soon To Be Too Late' is another. Plus another 3! I still have time before May but if I don't get these drums my masters will be too late!

This record is a lot like Faces where it has a wide spectrum of songs. I have 13 with vocals, styles ranging from really heavy to an acoustic instrumental."

Caffery recently posted the following update on Facebook:

This video was my first pass at a lead vocal in the second chorus and bridge for the song "Why?". Just a raw track and yes I know it's not perfect! First passes rarely are and I warm up as I sing!

During an interview with Vanyaland.com about the evolution of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Caffery addressed the upcoming Savatage reunion show at Germany's famed Wacken Open Air and the possibility of the band staying active:

Caffery: "I’m gonna put it this way: for 12 years, 13 years, I’ve been waiting for my band to play again. We’re playing again. I don’t know what’s going to happen after that (laughs), but there were people that were putting a fork in it, and we’re getting up and not just running a marathon, were running in the Olympics with this festival being what it is. I’m not going to make any predictions, but let’s just say there’s a possibility that something more will happen after Wacken – that’s all I can say. And nothing would make me happier."

Caffery recently commented on Savatage's upcoming Wacken show:

"Savatage will close the festival that night following TSO's first ever European festival appearance. I have been waiting for them to announce this for weeks. It was hard to keep it a secret! Yes, legion, our patience has finally paid off..."

Stay tuned for updates and band line-up information, coming soon.
