DEATH VALLEY DRIVER To Open For METALLICA In Halifax
July 10, 2011, 13 years ago
According to Theguardian.pe.ca, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER normally attracts a few hundred fans to their shows but that’s about the change, big time.
The Charlottetown-based heavy metal band will play their biggest show yet this Thursday when they open for METALLICA in front of thousands of potentially new fans.
Dreams do come true and Dan Hodgson will have his when he looks beyond his microphone to a sea of people on the Halifax Garrison Grounds at Rock The Hill 2011.
“I can’t wait,” said Hodgson. “Going to concerts like this before I’d always be saying to myself, ‘I wish I could play that type of stage.’”The band owes the opportunity for the gig to judges at Friday’s Clash of the Bands at Monte’s Showbar in Dartmouth.
Death Valley Drive was up against four other bands - two local to Halifax - for the opening spot.
