April 11, 2008, 16 years ago
DEF LEPPARD have cancelled their Winnipeg, MB appearance at MTS Centre on April 16th, due to illness. BW&BK;'s Mitch Lafon spoke to guitarist Phil Collen tonight regarding the band's Canadian show cancellations which also included tonight's (April 11th) gig in Quebec City, QC at Colisee Pepsi Arena, tomorrow's (Saturday, April 12th) show at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, ON and their Hamilton, ON appearance (at Copps Coliseum) on Sunday, April 13th.
Says Collen: "Joe (Elliott - vocals) and I came down with a virus - they thought it was pneumonia, but it's not.... but we both have lost our voices and there was just no way to do the shows. We are currently holed up in Quebec City."
Collen also added that drummer Rick Allen threw out his back today and he's also laid up.
As previously reported by BW&BK;, Collen expects the band to make up the postponed dates in August.
