The Mirrorball - Live & More booklet contains 16 pages with live photos by Ash Newell. Many photos have already been seen in the Shots From The Sparkle Tour coffee table books. The credits state that the live songs were “recorded at various points around the world, in the not too distant past” during the Sparkle Lounge tour 2008/2009. The mirror ball graphics on the discs all seem to be based on the same art that was used for the 'C’mon C’mon' promotional CDs in 2008.
DefLeppardNow.com webmaster weighs in on the audio portion of Mirror Ball - Live & More:
"The album starts with a bang, straight into the intro to 'Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)'; there’s not even a fade-in of the audience. The songs are presented as one show (no fade-outs/fade-ins between songs), but even if you didn’t know that the songs come from various shows, Joe (Elliott) gives it away by mentioning various places (Salt Lake City, California, Las Vegas and San Antonio). The only fades are between 'Rock On' and 'Two Steps Behind' (because that’s where disc 1 and disc 2 switch) and between 'Let’s Get Rocked' and 'Action'. This is because 'Action' and 'Bad Actress' (both from the 2008 Islington club show, it seems) are presented as 'bonus live tracks'. No big surprises in the songs, they all have the live quality we’re used to getting from the band."And now the video portion:
"Next to the promo videos for 'Nine Lives' and 'C’mon C’mon', the DVD also contains a 50-minute documentary, which is a collection of videos shot with a handheld camera (I think) and some professionally shot live footage. The main menu of the DVD lets you choose from the following chapters: - 'Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)' (Live)- Rick Allen returns to Donington
- Quebec, Canada
- 2009 Country Music Awards
- 'Hysteria' (Live)
- Backstage at Download
- 'Armageddon It' (Live)
- Japan/Australia tour
- 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' (Live)
- Making of The Mirror Ball (sic)
'Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)' was shot somewhere in North America, the other three live tracks are from the 2009 Download festival. Although the whole is brought as a documentary, there is no voice-over or host and the non-live footage is a compilation of all kinds of backstage/studio material from 2008/2009/2010."
