Montreal technical death metallers DERELICT have announced the addition of bassist James McCallum to their lineup. McCallum has been entrenched in the Montreal metal scene for several years as the driving force behind POISON OATH, as well several other projects.

“We’re excited to have James with us,” says Derelict vocalist Eric Burnet, “he’s a skilled player and is adding his own flavor to the Unspoken Words songs. We’re anxious for the fans to hear what he can do.”

Below is a video of McCallum performing 'Polarized' from the Unspoken Words album. The album is currently available in stores across Canada and via Relapse Records in the US.

Derelict are hard at work on the follow-up to 2009’s Unspoken Words. “We have six songs completed, and several more awaiting finishing touches,” states Burnet. “The writing is totally comfortable as we know exactly what we’re going for. We’re focusing on bringing out the best and most successful parts of our style as well as exploring some new territory.”

Derelict are also in the process of releasing a series of guitar lesson videos and other behind-the-scenes content, the first of which, as seen below, covers a few riffs from their song 'Machete'.
