It’s the story of the 21st century: two musicians, different generations, and different continents, meeting via YouTube and finding a musical partnership.
Their names are Dream Theater keyboardist extraordinaire Jordan Rudess and the 19-year-old Turkish prodigy Eren Basbug.
Rudess discovered Basbug after Basbug orchestrated Dream Theater's entire Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence album.
They will perform together - with special guest Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie - Sunday, January 23rd at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, New York.
In this exciting and rare solo performance by Rudess, he will debut in the US his composition, Explorations For Keyboard And Orchestra, on two keyboards. It was first premiered with two shows on one night, November 19th, in Caracas, Venezuela. During these sold-out performances in Venezuela, Basbug conducted the Chacao Youth Symphony Orchestra while Rudess played all of the keyboard/synthesizer parts.
Explorations For Keyboard And Orchestra, is Rudess’ first orchestral composition, and the January 23rd Tarrytown show will mark the first time it is played live on only two keyboards. At the show, Rudess will also highlight his acclaimed Billboard-award winning app (2010) MorphWiz.
Rudess and friends will also be performing two keyboard renditions of music by Dream Theater, LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT and more. In addition, Eyal Amir and Ray Livnat from Israel's PROJECT RNL will be joining Rudess for a new creative version of Project RnL's song 'Wake'.
