EVILE - XFM Radio Session To Air This Saturday
September 16, 2011, 13 years ago
British thrashers EVILE recently took part in a recording session for XFM Radio, which is due to be aired this Saturday, September 17th. Evile recorded special live versions of four of their tracks at the XFM studio, including two from the band's new album. The tracks - 'We Who Are About To Die', 'Infected Nation', 'Cult' and 'Eternal Empire' - are due to be broadcast on the XFM Rock Show with Ian Camfield this Saturday night from 10 PM - 2 AM, UK time.
Listen to the show online this Saturday at this location. The show will also be broadcast in the UK on DAB radio, and in London on 104.9 FM and Manchester on 97.7 FM.
'Cult', the new video from Evile, has been released online.
Lead guitarist Ol Drake comments: "Finally, another Evile video! It's been so long since 'Infected Nation' and we couldn't wait to get another video out and try something completely different. The director, Ramy, had all the right ideas for us to achieve something off the wall that we were looking for this time around. 'Cult' is quite a solid, stomping song, so we wanted something to capture that visually without the typical 'shaking' effect. Hope you all like it."
Vocalist/rhythm guitarist Matt Drake adds: "As we have often said, we like to do things a bit differently and occasionally side-step the typical or obvious, so here is our video for the first single, 'Cult', from our new album Five Serpent's Teeth. We hope you enjoy it and have a laugh with it. Most of all, we hope this song will convince you to JOIN OUR CULT. I'm glad I remembered to clean my teeth before we filmed this."

Evile have confirmed a special hometown show to celebrate the release of Five Serpent’s Teeth. The band will be returning to their hometown to treat their loyal local fans to a night of pure, homegrown British metal. The special release show is due to take place at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on October 2nd. Supporting Evile will be fellow British metallers TORANAGA and GRIEVE.
Ol Drake comments: "It's been a long time since we played so close to home. One venue we've always wanted to play near to home is the Picturedrome in Holmfirth. We've teamed up with Kerrang! magazine to have a very special album release show at that very venue. We can't wait to play the new material so close to home after such a long time. See you all there!"
Frontman Matt Drake adds: "At long last we can announce that we are playing a local show! We haven't played locally in nearly 3 years, so it's about time we did so. We are heading into the green hills of Holmfirth to play at a place called the Picturedrome, which is the place to go to see older rock bands, so for one night we're turning it into a building full of METAL. Hopefully everyone who used to watch us locally back in the day can turn out to see us, along with all the new blood, and make it a night to remember!"
Tickets for the special show cost just £6 and are available now at this location.
Evile will release Five Serpent’s Teeth in North America on October 18th via Earache Records. Five Serpent's Teeth will be released in Europe on September 26th.
A 15-minute preview of the album, featuring one-and-a-half blistering minutes of each song, is available to listen to now below:
Five Serpent’s Teeth was recorded at Parlour Studios in Kettering, UK, with producer Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, DIMMU BORGIR), who also helmed the band’s highly regarded 2009 release, Infected Nations.
Conceptually derived from the dreams of vocalist/rhythm guitarist Matt Drake and heavily influenced by the passing of the band’s beloved bassist Mike Alexander, Five Serpent’s Teeth is a bold and fearless record that roars with monstrous riffs and rhythm, blazes with neck-snapping speed and showcases the band’s masterful talent and steadfast energy.
