Ex-MEGADETH guitarist JEFF YOUNG has checked in with the following update:

"At the last minute, I was asked to do another (tribute) song at RANDY RHOADS Remembered, this one playing along side Randy's brother Kelle Rhoads on vocals. We jammed out a medley of two classic QUIET RIOT songs from the Randy era of the band, 'Back To The Coast' and 'Killer Girls'. Thanks to Brian Tichy and Brent Woods for trusting me with these classic QR tunes."

Prior to the event, which took place on January 25th, Young posted his thoughts on Rhoads:

"Randy was a tremendous influence on myself and countless other guitarists of diverse genres. Even if you didn't play rock or metal, you still loved Randy Rhoads. His impact goes even beyond the spectacular playing, charisma and image - his devoted and disciplined approach to the instrument was a benchmark that I looked up to and implemented on my own musical journey. He flipped the paradigm from sex, drugs & rock-n-roll to guitaristic craftsmanship. It was 100% because of Randy that, in my late teens, I hunted down the best classical guitar teacher in my hometown to discover the intricacies of fingerstyle nylon-string playing.

I was blessed to see Randy perform with OZZY OSBOURNE, once on the Blizzard Of Ozz tour and once on the Dairy Of A Madman trek. As great as he played on record, by the second tour with Ozzy, he was composing and improvising lines that were breathtakingly melodic and outside the box. When we lost Randy, we lost one of the purest beacons in music history.

I'm humbled and honored to be part of this worthy event. This opportunity to help keep Randy's music alive and on the eternal forefront where he belongs, is a mission I will always cherish. Right now, I know each performing guitarist is pouring over Randy's licks in awe, preparing to leave it all there on the stage in Santa Ana. And somewhere, Randy is smiling because just as in life, he continues to inspire and heal us all with the purest of art forms... music."
