hot flashes news final depravity

Frontman Dennis "Blaze" Baron from German thrashers FINAL DEPRAVITY has issued the following year-end update:

"2010 is almost over and it has been a spectacular year for Final Depravity - time for a look back and a preview of 2011!

2010 began with the finishing of our debut album Nightmare 13, but the label was yet not certain. Spring went by with a few gigs, label search and troubles within the band foreshadowed, but who would have guessed then wheels should turn that much faster from summer on...

June turned out to be the decisive month: Final Depravity signed to the new label Nihilistic Empire Records/Twilight Distribution (also label of DEUS INVERSUS) and another, even more difficult decision had to be made. Professional and personal differences of opinion within the band exceeded a tolerable level and the line-up had to be changed to prevent the band from breaking up. Having only played the guitar before, I also took over the microphone and luckily we found two new members that would boost the band's quality and level of dedication significantly:

Oliver Hey (guitar, vocals) and Tristan Maiwurm (drums)

The rest of summer passed by with rehearsing, rehearsing and - rehearsing...

September set the next milestones: the new line-up was made public, several shows in our homebase Ruhr Area were played (incl. Turock Open Air in Essen), and we assembled a professional crew around Sascha Risseler as our FOH engineer and promoter.

October 15: Finally, Nightmare 13 is released! Good things come to those who wait - or take action. We celebrated the release with a show in Oberhausen, seeing e.g. the new band of Frank Blackfire (SODOM) as our guest, and played a few more shows until the end of November before backing down to write new material for the second album.

And here comes the preview of 2011: some shows are already scheduled (February 5th in Dorsten with WARRANT and ACCUSER) and a lot more will follow. Recordings for the second album will presumably start in summer for a late autumn release and - that's what we learned at least in 2010 - who the hell knows what else will happen. We wait with bated breath...

Alright, friends and foes, time to say thanks. First and foremost, our thanks go out to Johannes Baron for his endless support - without him this band wouldn't exist (not to mention I wouldn't exist...)! Thanks to Nihilistic Empire Records for believing in us, Jürgen Vetter and Sascha Risseler for pushing hard and giving it all to advance FD, and a big time thanks to all of you out there: without you all our effort would be quite senseless - thanks for coming to our shows, purchasing our record, giving your feedback and supporting FD in so many ways! We hope we can count on you in 2011 as well. Wherever you are: take care and happy holidays for you and your families.

Thrash is just the beginning..."
