Martin Söderqvist of defunct metallers HOSTILE CELL checks in with the following update:

"First of all: I was never the bassist of Hostile Cell. I was the lead guitarist and lead singer. Second: I am the bassist in DEBBIE RAY, which has recorded three new songs that are currently being mixed, and unfortunately no new album has been recorded yet.

I'm very excited to be jamming on some brand new material today (July 10th) with former Hostile Cell members Johan Svensson and Eric Olausson. The riffs I have heard so far are in the vein of SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD and PANTERA.

We have not decided if I'm going to be the vocalist or if we are going to look for someone else. All I know is that I will be playing the bass when we are jamming and that this isn't a reincarnation of Hostile Cell. The style is different, more straight on."

Söderqvist announced back in April that Hostile Cell had called it quits. He is now the permanent bassist for the hard rock band Debbie Ray. Check out the band at www.myspace.com/debbieray1.

Debbie Ray released their debut album, Artificial Misery, in 2010 in the US through Demon Doll Records, and in Europe through Coreshot Productions/Plugged Distribution. It has been described as a pure hard rock album in the vein of SKID ROW and HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, but with a modern touch.
