Rich Davenport's Rock Show - Pete Way (ex UFO), Jeff Carlisi (ex 38 Special) & The Quill interview by Rich Davenport on Mixcloud
The first hour of the show features the second in a series of interviews with legendary former UFO bassist Pete Way, in which Pete looks at the recent UFO At The BBC box set. This week, Pete looks at a live concert recording from 1975 and a radio session from 1977 featuring the classic Strangers In The Night line-up of the band, and chooses two classic tracks.
Also in part one, Magnus Arnar, frontman with Swedish hard rockers THE QUILL, talks about the band's new album Tiger Blood, which sees the band distilling their '70s classic rock influences into a high quality set of songs delivered with passion and energy.
Part two features and extended version of the show's weekly Southern Rock special feature, with an extended interview with one of the most underrated lead guitarists of the genre, Jeff Carlisi, formerly of 38 SPECIAL. Jeff gives the inside story of two newly reissued classic 38 Special albums, Wild Eyed Southern Boys and Special Forces (out now on Beat Goes On records), which saw the band blending their fiery Southern Rock roots with a more polished melodic Hard Rock sound. Jeff also discusses his current role with Camp Jam, a music education programme for both kids and adults, and his recent book Jam!, in which he offers practical advice to bands and businesses, based on lessons he learned in his career as a professional musician.
