South Florida-based heavy metal outfit FORTY WINTERShas announced a fall headlining tour, The Blackout Tour, set to commence next month. Support on the run will come from A FIGHT FOR LIFE, AFTER ME THE FLOOD (September 25th - October 21st) and FERO LUX (September 18th - 22nd). A list of confirmed dates can be seen below, with more shows to be announced in the coming weeks.

"We always look forward to making new friends and seeing new things, and we're just grateful for the chance to be a part of different scenes and movements," said vocalist Xavier Vicuna. "Touring, in general, is something we get super stoked about - the experience overall is what we look forward to. Just getting in the van and going... Also, In N Out Burger."

Forty Winters will hit the road in September with an arsenal of new material, songs the vocalist describes as, "vintage Forty Winters with an even more pissed off and determined feel."

The band will record three new songs later this month, recruiting the talents of Charles J. Wall and Phil Pluskota at Sonic Assault Studios in Cape Coral, Fla. for production, mixing and mastering.

"We really tried to warp our roots and influences into a newer, more aggressive approach," added Vicuna. "We've grooved, we've jammed and we've dropped it, but the goal has always been to evolve. The new stuff is pretty evil and a lot more genuine; we really focused on being ourselves and doing what felt natural. It's gonna be pretty raw - a lot of slamming and thrashing."

The band's most recent offering, 2011's Reflection, is the culmination of a calculated blend of heavy hardcore, thought-provoking lyrics and haunting metal melodies, sharpened with a relentless DIY work-ethic after completing several East Coast and US tours. And with plenty of new material and The Blackout Tour on the horizon, Forty Winters has no plans of slowing down any time soon.

"After the headliner we should be hitting up the East Coast to visit some familiar hot spots and then trek it over to Central America for some Costa Rica and Panama dates," the vocalist concluded. "A new video may or may not surface around the same time as well. Keep those eyes peeled!"
