Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB recently supported reunited thrash legends LAWNMOWER DETH at a special warm-up show in Milton Keynes, with Lawnmower Deth preparing for their appearance at the Download festival in the UK, and Gama Bomb preparing for their summer appearances at Hellfest in France, and Tuska Open Air in Finland.

Gama Bomb frontman Philly Byrne comments on the gig: "Playing with Lawnmower Deth was a bizarre but really fun experience. It was like a normal metal gig had been injected with silly sauce. When you play to those old-school crowds they don't need to get to know you; they just accept you immediately. It was class."

Fans who were lucky enough to attend the special gig were also treated to some brand new Gama Bomb tracks. Philly Byrne continues: "Our new stuff is written with the mantra 'faster than the last' in mind, because we're always ramping up our speed limit, and we think 'more about less ideas' when it comes to lyrics. These songs are about us sticking to our guns and doing the same thing - just louder and better than before! There'll be no acoustic guitar or synths on the new album, that's for sure."

New Metal Army were at the show to shoot video footage of Gama Bomb performing. Check out videos of some of the songs played, including two brand new tracks, below.

Gama Bomb are now focussing on their upcoming appearances at Hellfest on Saturday and Tuska Open Air the following weekend.

Philly Byrne describes the band's excitement: "We're looking at our sets at Hellfest and Tuska Open Air as the most important and coolest shows we've ever done. We're anticipating it so much there's smoke coming out of our ears. I've been getting up extra early all week and practicing smashing glasses with my shrieks - it hasn't worked so far, but it's certainly getting my neighbours agitated. It's safe to say that if these aren't the best shows we've ever done, we'll eat our own hi-tops."
