hot flashes news god forbid hatebreed

GOD FORBID guitarist Doc Coyle has posted the following message at the band's MySpace page:

"What's up everyone,

We start the Monsters of Mayhem 2 Tour with HATEBREED, EVERGREEN TERRACE, TERROR, THE ACACIA STRAIN and AFTER THE BURIAL in a few days. We are pretty fucking excited to hit the road with Hatebreed. They are some of our closest friends in this whole crazy business, and they always bring us on the road and help us out whenever possible. This is probably the 4th or 5th time we've toured together. We look forward to stealing their beer and crowding their bus. LOL. We have never toured with Evergreen Terrace, Terror, or The Acacia Strain but we have played one-off shows and festivals with them here and there all over the world. They are all cool dudes and good bands, and will certainly be tough to follow every night. We've never met After The Burial, but I look forward to seeing them play and hanging out. This is going to be a sick tour, and it's probably the biggest thing we've done in a while so that should give you some idea of how pumped we are to annhilate the crowd nightly. We are the token heavy metal band on this one, so I hope the hardcore kids dig what we do. I have no doubts that the GF faithful will represent though.

Just give everyone an update on God Forbid World, we finished our international tour at the end of March, and it was awesome. Sleep was almost nonexistent, and my liver is probably still pissed off at me, but it was worth it. Much props to the GF fans of Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, and Alaska. We are working on rescheduling the Mexico tour dates as well.

I'm sure many of you know, we filmed (Directed by Dave Brodsky) our most recent concert on the Chains Of Humanity headlining US Tour at the Starland Ballroom in our home, New Jersey. We have been doing some work on this since we've gotten home. Eric Rachel who produced, or co-produced the last 2 albums recorded the concert audio and will also be mixing it. So expect a monster sound. Also, we've decided include a documentary in the DVD. Close friend of the band, Denise Korycki is directing the documentary. FYI, she also directed the documentary of Killswitch's DVD. Since this is our first DVD release, it's important to us to make this DVD as comprehensive and in depth as possible so that our fans feel like they get their money's worth and then some. Alot of bands put together crappy, bootleg, home video style DVD's and I think 9 times out of 10, it is ripping off the consumer. We're going to work really hard to make this project incredible and worth of your DVD libraries.

We've also started work on writing the next God Forbid album. We only had a handful of rehearsals before this tour started, but I can say we've got a shitload of sick riffs. Unfortunately, a sick riff does not a song make. All joking aside, we really won't be able to dive into writing for real until this Hatebreed tour is over. I can tell you this though, we are going to take our time with this next record. Everytime we make an album, we try to do something that will make a mark on the fabric of heavy music history. Whether that has happened or not, who knows? This time around is no exception. There are big ambitions, and I certainly wouldn't be suprised to hear significant change from the band. We believe in evolution, not stagnation. But I still can't tell you what it will be like because I honestly don't know. If you were going to ask me what I wanted, I would probably say "heavier, faster, and more metal." But I have to fight for that in the rehearsal room. We'll see what happens. I'd like to get the DVD out by the end of the year, and the album out early net year, but we'll have to see how things come together. No promises. Quality before quantity.

I'll see all you people on tour.

Take care and stay Metal!"
