GRAND MAGUS guitarist / vocalist JB Christofferson is featured in a new interview with Greece-based Rock Pages. An excerpt is available below.

Rockpages.gr : People (journalists) tend to put tags to music, and they named your name “stoner”. Wouldn’t be much healthier to name it “Epic Sabbathic Inyourface Metal?"

JB: "That’s a very good description. Then again that’s also... I was very disappointed when people called us like stoner rock. To me stoner is American music with Cactus and people smoking marijuana. We’ve never done that stuff. At the same time, people need to have labels to differ things. If you say black metal, to me it’s BATHORY and then it’s Norway. For someone else it may be..."

Rockpages.gr: CRADLE OF FILTH?

JB: "Yeah, maybe! It’s important for people to get that point across. I listen to hard rock, blues-based hard rock, you know, DEEP PURPLE, URIAH AHEEP... If you say you like heavy metal, it’s like every band in the world (laughs) but, to me, we’re a heavy metal band."
