According to CBC News, concert promoter Harold MacKay says Halifax will see millions of dollars of economic spinoff from this summer's Metallica concert.

Halifax will be the first of two Canadian stops for the rock band this summer, it was confirmed Monday. The second is Quebec City on July 16.

"This show we think can draw anywhere from 20,000 to 25,000 people based on the performances of Metallica around the world," MacKay said. "I think we got the right band this time."

MacKay Entertainment, a company owned by MacKay's wife Michelle, is responsible for promoting the July 14 event, which is being called Rock the Hill.

"We've been trying to prove to international artists that the Maritimes is the place to come," MacKay said Monday.
