Portugal's HEAVENWOOD will release their new album, Abyss Masterpiece, via Listenable Records on February 28th, 2011

Multi-talented German Producer extraordinaire Kristian “Kohle” Kohlmannslehner (pictured at left) opens for the first time the gates of the Abyss and talks a bit about the new Masterpiece, on video filmed at Kohlekeller Studios, Germany. Check out the video below.

Commented the band: “Working with Kohle resulted on a perfect chemistry for both parts. We wanted Abyss Masterpiece to sound majestic. Kohle added some alchemic ingredients and with his unique ‘savoir faire‘ and very own musical perception turn it even more imperial, epic and also dark and quiet evil.“

The band recently revealed the cover art for the record. It was developed and realized by Matthew Vickerstaff of Darkwave Art.

Guitarist Bruno Silva comments: "The band is very delighted with the work done by Matthew Vickerstaff. He managed to illustrate in the perfection the essence and feeling contained on Abyss Masterpiece. Matthew's experience was a great plus for the whole graphic production and for everybody truly into Heavenwood’s world. “

Vickerstaff has worked previously with CRADLE OF FILTH, MY DYING BRIDE, GODFLESH, THE HAUNTED and CATHEDRAL to name a few.
