ILLDISPOSED Guitarist Jakob Batten - "Unfortunately The Metal Business Sucks But That’s Life!"

Jakob Batten, guitarist for Danish metallers ILLDISPOSED spoke to Hall Of Metal Webzine recently about a number of topics including their latest album, The Prestige, which was released by AFM Records in Europe on March 31st. Here are a few excerpts from the chat:
HOM: With the arrival of the new millennium, your line-up changed completely. What happened on those years?
Batten: "Well, we’re getting older and the band isn’t first priority for everybody anymore. When you get kids you have to be able to support them 100% so sometimes you have to choose a job that gives you money instead of a crappy metal band that doesn’t give you anything. Unfortunately the metal business sucks but that’s life!"
HOM: You have always been considered a brutal band, but in your last albums, included The Prestige, you seem to be very comfortable with that kind of death at half tempo, very melodic. Have the changes in your line-up been the cause of this “softness” or it is just a logical evolution?
Batten: "It’s just a normal evolution. We develop as musicians and we also get older and start listening to softer music hehe."
HOM: Looking back at the past, are you in the place you dreamt to be? Do you think you have left something on the way?
Batten: "I already experienced more than I could ever dream of, so if I die tomorrow I would die happy!"
