hot flashes news in flames

Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have issued the following update, commenting further on the cancellation of their scheduled appearance on July 12th at the Evolution festival in Italy, which was cancelled due to extreme rain and bad weather:

"It has come to our attention that a lot of Italian fans are disappointed about the unfortunate Evolution Festival incident, and so are we.

We were really psyched to play for you all, but instead we had to go home...

However, regarding us not coming out on stage to address the cancellation to our fans: This was taken care of by the crew and staff of the festival without our knowledge and we were not asked to do so.

We found out afterwards that our crew had done so, which was really cool of them to risk their health and set the record straight, as it was apparently a direct danger to go up there.

Regarding playing a set on the 2nd stage instead: It would have taken too long to move the gear (amplifiers, lights, etc) to the other stage and as the festival had a curfew, there was no time to do that.

Again, we are sorry about this but it was all out of our hands.

As previously mentioned, rain and electricity does not mix well together and you obviously need electricity to run the microphones and all the other gear.

We hope that there will be no further complaints about this and we hope to see you all this fall.

Anders, Björn, Jesper, Peter & Daniel."
