INTO ETERNITY Mainman Comments On Mid-Gigantour Setback

Last year was bittersweet for Regina hard rockers INTO ETERNITY. They released their highly anticipated The Scattering Of Ashes album to much fan and critical acclaim, and they were hand-picked by MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine to join his travelling heavy metal festival, Gigantour. Unfortunately, the band suffered a setback mid-tour when their session guitarist quit.
The sudden departure of their now former good friend was a blow to vocalist Stu Block and the remaining members of Into Eternity. "I don't really want to get to into it because it's something I really don't like to discuss too much," Block admits when asked about the incident.
"He made his decision and it was definitely a wrong one. He kind of stabbed us in the back. Sometimes your true colours come out. So he took off on us and we had to finish the tour as a four-piece."The old saying of "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" definitely holds true for Into Eternity and their Gigantour experience. What the band lost in terms of playing one man short, they gained in character and respect from their peers.
"We just had to play minus a couple of rhythms and a couple of harmonies," says Block of the band's shorthanded live show. "A lot of people were telling us that a lot of bands would have left right away."But we're on Gigantour with Megadeth and we didn't want to let anyone down. It was up to us to prove that we are professionals and to prove that we are better than that. Other musicians on the bill were coming up to us, shaking our hands saying, 'Good for you guys for staying on the tour.'"
