Savannah, GA-based psychedelic metal quintet KYLESA have issued the following year-end wrap-up:

"2009 was a busy and prolific year with Kylesa touring almost non-stop in support of Static Tensions across the US, Canada, Europe and Japan sharing the stage with bands as diverse and influential as MASTODON, CLUTCH, AMEBIX, NEUROSIS, COALESCE, DOWN and COHEED AND CAMBRIA.

Among the hundreds of shows were numerous fests including Hellfest, Rockwave, Scion Rock Fest, Planet Caravan, Oya and many others. The band also co-headlined tours with SKELETONWITCH and TORCHE and were supported on their headlining runs by a cast of great bands like SAVIOURS, RED FANG, BISON B.C. and TOMBS.

The band saw the light of many releases as well. Prior to the monumental release of Static Tensions in March, the band released an elaborate repackaging of 2006's Time Will Fuse its Worth to support their tour of Japan in February.

Following Static Tensions were two 7"s (one from the ST sessions and one split with VICTIMS) and a few different vinyl versions of S.T., intended for their fans. Kylesa were nominated by Metal Hammer's Golden Globe awards for "Best Underground Band" and the band topped several end of the year lists.

As far as the end of the year and decade go, they are happy with the momentum they have created and plan on starting the new year with the same amount of energy."
