Hall Of Metal has issued an interview with LACUNA COIL vocalist Andrea Ferro. The following is an excerpt:

Q: How was working with a producer like Don Gilmore? I think that the production of the album (Shallow Life) is nearly perfect.

A: "Yeah, it's the first time we recorded an album in America and we had learned a lot, because Don is a very experimented guy, he had worked with many bands and different styles in rock band, PEAR JAM, AVRIL LAVIGNE... a lot of bands that are very different from one another. People was skeptical because they said he's a pop producer but he didn't change the songs, and the production process was very relaxed. It was the most relaxed session we've ever had, the weather was fine, the studio was great, we had all the equipment to experiment, and we took a lot of time for the vocals and the lyrics. So it has been an amazing experience, he knows how to break the monotony, and just do something funny, something stupid... So I think that it's important and that's why the album sounds that way."

As previously reported, Shallow Life has debuted at #16 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. This position marks the band's highest Billboard chart entry, as well as the highest Billboard debut in the history of Century Media Records. The disc also scored chart entries across the world, most notably at #2 on the UK rock charts. The new effort was recorded with acclaimed producer Don Gilmore (LNKIN PARK, PEARL JAM) at the NRG Studios in Los Angeles.

Cristina Scabbia (vocals) comments: "Thank you, thank you and thank you all! After its first week in the stores, Shallow Life entered The Billboard 200 chart at #16 and we are absolutely thrilled. Most of all, we couldn't be happier about the fact that you (our fans) have supported us and our work, once again. It's been a beautiful journey, together we have shared the same passions for ten years and this is another goal we have reached and are celebrating together with you all out there. Thank you for being part of the Lacuna Coil family and see you all on the road soon. Rock on!"
