HallOfMetal.com recently caught up with Sweden's MARIONETTE guitarist Aron Parmerud. A brief excerpt from the interview can be found below.

HoM: The look of the band doesn’t seem to match the music you play at all. Did you decide to do this deliberately or is just done for marketing purposes?

Parmerud: "It’s a part of the whole concept of Marionette. We do it deliver a visual statement along with our music. We want to look this way and so we do it. Lot’s of Hardcore metalheads don’t take to kindly to our image but that doesn’t bother us."

HoM. Surely you know that lots of metalheads use to have some sort of previous expectations when they see the external look of the bands. In your case you’re wearing like MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and other bands normally do. Are you aware that no one will figure out you’re playing Death/Thrash metal until they listen to your music?

Parmerud: "True. It only adds to the message we want to send. We don’t think anyone should limit themselves to their expectations. People see us and expect to hear My Chemical Romance or FALL OUT BOY, but instead they get fucking metal! That’s exactly the reaction we want and it’s a part of the concept of Marionette."
