MEGADETH Frontman DAVE MUSTAINE Checks In; Setlist For Upcoming Preist Feast Tour Shaping Up
January 5, 2009, 15 years ago
MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update:
"Droogies!Today is the start officially of the first workweek of the New Year, and I am excited to get back in the studio and work. I have not seen James LoMenzo for a week or so, and I really look forward to seeing my fellow 'Revolvher - Hot Dude' and we are going to see our manager this week too, so it looks to be a very productive first week of the year.
Yesterday, Andy and I went over the bunch of songs we have written already and created the beginning to 'Song Number 9', which is a lot like the beginning to 'Blood of Heroes' meets the beginning of 'Making Music' by DIAMOND HEAD, one of my favorite bands in the whole world.
We are also getting together our stage plots and lighting designs, as well as the video programming for the project. You see, after trying both pyrotechnics and projection, I think that projection was a better choice for us, and if we can have both, then great, but if it is one or the other, it should be projection first.
I am super stoked to be having a classic Marshall wall of cabinets and heads with a killer look and stage plot. Although it is not going to be the very 'over-used look' of three high and three wide or more which I don't think really matters.
We are going to be going over all of our gear and all of our song choices for set-lists for the tour, and we are going to put up a list of all of the songs that we played on the last tour, and see what your feelings are for our set-list for Priest Feast. I am also going to put in a short-list of some potential songs we may learn just to liven things up a bit. I know that Chris has several Megadeth catalogue songs that he was working on and we will show y'all and see what happens.
Well, I have to go feed my horse this morning, and head over to the studio. We are going to be working on tempos and speeds of certain songs that we feel need to be stepped up a bit, or in some case have the speeds balanced out to be consistent with the songs, which is always variable in the beginnings when you are 'demo taping' stuff up.
I will check in tomorrow and there should start being some substantial stuff for you to sink your teeth into, but until then, please feel free to surf around and read as much as you want about Megadeth, me and the band, or anything Megadeth or Mustaine Music related."
Until tomorrow,
MSGD!
