Vicki Anderson from Stuff.co.nz is reporting:
METALLICA fans will be hoping that rumours of a New Zealand tour in November, including a show at Christchurch's AMI Stadium, will not turn into 'The Day That Never Comes'.
During a recent press conference in Bogota, Colombia, Lars Ulrich, of American heavy metal band Metallica, indicated the group would perform in New Zealand.
When asked about Metallica's plans, Ulrich replied: "We're staying out and doing dates up until November; in Australia and New Zealand is where we're heading in November, and then, after that, we're going to take a little bit of chill time ..."
Bryan Pearson, chief executive of Christchurch venue manager Vbase, said yesterday he was unable to comment on the rumours.
"Just like you, we've heard the rumours too," he said."At this stage, I cannot comment further."
Metallica's World Magnetic tour, which started in October 2008, was originally meant to arrive in New Zealand last year.
However, there has not been an official announcement on New Zealand or Australian dates. Metallica last performed in New Zealand at Auckland's Big Day Out in 2004.
