Los Angeles based hard rock band MY RUIN have posted a new video for their cover of the RICK DERRINGER's 'Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo'. The video was created by Tor Burrows & Ryan Dean-Corke of Acid Pie Productions and the footage was shot of at Rios, Leeds & TJ's, Newport [on Halloween] during My Ruin's ReligiosiTour of the UK in late 2008.

According to lead screamer Tairrie B, My Ruin chose to cover the classic tune because Mick (guitarist/husband) Murphy is a huge fan of Rick Derringer and turned her onto his music years ago. "We actually went to see the reunion tour featuring the original line up of Derringer last year when they played LA. It was killer and although obviously what I do is very different vocally on stage, we thought it would be a good time to cover one of our favourite tunes and kinda change up a few words here and there for fun during the last tour. Not a lot of people seemed to know about Rick Derringer in the UK, so every night I would say a little something about him before we played it and suddenly kids who were coming to more than one show were singing along with me and asking about him after the set. When the tour was over, many of our fans went onto you tube and checked him out and let us know how much they really liked his music, which I thought was pretty cool.

Tairrie adds: "We have some very talented fans who are very passionate about our band and music in ways that never cease to amaze us. The duo that filmed and edited our new video also created two other live videos for MY RUIN-- 'Me Without You' and 'Slide You The Horn' - which appears on the enhanced CD of new live album /DVD Alive On The Other Side released last year on our imprint label Rovena Recordings label via Cargo Records UK and Redeye USA.
