MY RUIN Vocalist Tairrie B. Gearing Up For Release Of Solo Rap Album, Pays Tribute To Husband/Guitarist Mick Murphy - "This Man Inspired Me To Be Me"

My Ruin vocalist Tairrie B. Murphy has checked in with the following update:

"Fifteen years ago today (January 5th) I met this man. We fell in love at first sight and soon after, decided we wanted to create music together in what would become our band My Ruin. Since 2000 we have recorded eight albums, toured the world and weathered many storms in and surrounding our band but our relationship has always stayed strong and true even in the midst of all the chaos that comes along with being independent artists.

In 2014, I decided to take a journey down a different musical path and re-open a door I had closed many years ago and pour myself into something I had been wanting to re-visit for a while now. Rather than discourage me, this man stood by me and inspired me to be ME. He didn't question my intentions because he understood them. Instead, he offered up some of his incredible talents to assist me in making my vision become a reality.

Soon I will be launching a new website, Facebook page, etc. and I will be debuting my new solo rap album ‪Vintage Curses‬ in the form of a free mixtape with a little taste at a time. It's been hard keeping it a secret for so long now and even harder not sharing it with each new day but I promise it will be worth the wait.

‪‎My Ruin‬ is not over. As long as we are together, we will always be a band and if or when the time is right to play a show, tour or make another record again, we will. In the meantime, Mick has a few things he is busy working on behind the scenes and I am currently conjuring various elements and images to accompany my upcoming release which is coming soon.

This image was taken 10 years ago by photographer Sébastien Paquet and has always been one of my personal favorites for obvious reasons! ‪

Thank you for always having my back (and cheek) baby!"
