Glenn Hughes (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, ex-DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, TRAPEZE) has posted via his Twitter account that the second album from Black Country Communion will be in stores in June to coincide with tour.
Says Hughes: "BCC 2 will be released in June when we start our summer tour. Thanx for all your very positive messages. We recorded our first new BCC 2 song 2day... it F------ Rocks... play it loud."
Black Country Communion also features drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN), Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER) and blues rock guitarist JOE BONAMASSA.
About the direction of BCC's sophomore effort, Hughes told Morley Seaver from antiMusic recently: "There’s not going to be any, say funk, on the record. But there will be some groove on the album, as there was on the first record. I mean, ZEPPELIN had a groove to it. The STONES have got groove. BCC are a rock and roll band. Let’s be very true about that. We’re a rock and roll band. The album is going to be part two of the first one. As you know, I never re-write a song twice. I have to be really clear with this with you. I have worked, really, really, really hard on number two. As I did on number one but this time I’ve had a little bit more time to write songs."
