hot flashes news north

Six years, two records, and countless personnel changes later, Tucson, Arizona sludge trio, North, is finally able to announce the vinyl release of their What You Were debut.

A three-way release among the band, Cavity Records, and upstart imprint Silent Pendulum Records, What You Were boasts new artwork by guitarist Matt Mutterperl and comes in a limited pressing of 250: 100 on white wax and 150 on black.

What You Were will be released this August. Pre-orders are available now at this location.

The record comes in conjunction with North's Summer live invasion scheduled to kick off this August where the band will head north, trampling through twenty-two cities with additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks. North will be touring in support of their Metanoia EP, released independently earlier this year. Metanoia was recorded and mixed by Dana Fehr Wavelab Studios in Tucson with additional engineering by Chris Shultz, mastered by James Plotkin (OLD, Scorn, Khanate, Khlyst) and boasts four sprawling tracks of thick, syrupy riff cascades, graveled vocal swells, epic climaxes and ethereal atmospheres.
