OBSESSION frontman Michael Vescera (ANIMETAL USA, ex-LOUDNESS) is featured in a new interview with Queens Of Steel. An excerpt is available below:

On the early days:

Vescera: "Obsession was formed by childhood friends Bruce Vitale, Jay Mezias, Art Maco and Matt Karagus. Although they lived in different parts of Connecticut, they came together form the love of the same style of music. I was actually the last member to join. They were having trouble finding a singer that liked the same style of metal and that could actually sing it. I got together with the guys and we hit it off right away . it was a great time for metal, the scene was great, many, many fans, large venues to play, etc. I’m honored to have been part of it."

On the Scarred For Life ('86) and Methods Of Madness ('87) albums:

Vescera: "I love both these releases, we didn’t know at the time what we were creating. They’ve stood the test of time and are still listened to by a great many people."

On joining Loudness in the late '80s:

Vescera: "I actually received a call for their US management. They asked me if I would be interested in singing for Loudness, I was quite surprised. I guess they had seen a video of me on MTV and thought I was the right guy for them. Within two days, I was on my way to Tokyo, rehearsed with the band a few times, then went in to start recording “Soldier” That was a great experience. The band was unbelievably talented and it was and honor for me to be part of that."

Vescera commented on Order Of Chaos in an earlier interview with BW&BK;:

"It’s a cross between Carnival Of Lies and the early Obsession stuff. I think it’s geared more towards the older sound, the straightforward metal like the Marshall Law album (’84), but you can hear some of the Carnival sound in there, too.”
