OPHIS To Reissue Effigies Of Desolation Album, Nostrae Mortis Signaculum EP On New Double CD
March 12, 2013, 11 years ago
Cyclone Empire has announced the release of Effigies Of Desolation, a double CD from German death/doom outfit, OPHIS.
The release will include an exclusive reissue of their debut album, Streams Of Misery, and their longtime sold-out EP Nostrae Mortis Signaculum, plus some previously unreleased bonus material. The exclusive digipack reissue will be released on April 26th,accompanied with a performance at the famous Doom Shall Rise Festival.
Says Ophis: “When Cyclone Empire voiced interest in re-releasing our first two records, the Nostrae Mortis Signaculum EP (2004) and the debut album Stream Of Misery (2007), it was both a surprise and an honour. Both records were out of print and sold out (except for maybe some rest stocks in small distros), but since they were not THAT old (at least not the debut), it was sort of a compliment to see that there is still some professional interest in those records. To keep up our standards of offering a worthy product, we added some bonus tracks from our very own archives - demos and live recordings - which are somewhat raw and imperfect, but combined with the tracks from the official CDs they show a picture of Ophis' early years in all its facettes. In our eyes, this is not a simple re-release, it is a compilation of old Ophis stuff and a view behind the scenes as well - that's why we chose to give it a new name and an exclusive artwork. Enjoy the suffering!"
