OZZFest 2007 Bill Shaping Up; LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, LORDI, NILE Among First Acts Revealed

Billboard has issued the following report from Ray Waddell:
LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED and LORDI are among the first acts to be revealed for the 2007 OZZFest, which turned heads this summer when founders Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne announced the festival would be a free event.
Lamb Of God and Lordi will perform on the main stage with headliner OZZY OSBOURNE, while Hatebreed will headline the second stage, supported by MONDO GERERATOR, ANKLA, CIRCUS DIABLO, NILE and THE SHOWDOWN. The 24-city tour begins July 12th in Seattle, WA.
The Osbournes created a stir back in February when they announced that OZZFest would be a sponsor-driven, free event, and acts would be asked to play without being paid.
In an earlier interview, Sharon Osbourne told Billboard that the reaction had been mixed from the concert business. "A lot of the older guys in the industry have been coming up to me and saying, 'Oh, this is great, it's innovative,' and then behind my back they're going, 'She's fucking nuts'," Osbourne said. "Fine - believe me I've heard worse. As long as everybody has a great time, nobody loses money or goes broke doing this, what harm will it do to go out there and do something like this?"
Asked if OZZFest would be able to line up the star power of years past, Osbourne responded, "The star power we have is Ozzy Osbourne. He's got the credibility and the kids have known for 38 years that when Ozzy has toured he's always had amazing talented bands that tour with him, and he's not going to let them down this year. Are we going to get METALLICA? No, of course not, kids know that. [But] the bands there performing want to be there, not because they're taking home a fucking nest egg at the end of it."
To gain entry into this year's OZZFest, fans must go to www.ozzfest.com or www.livenation.com to find links that will direct them to special sponsor sites where tickets can be secured. Tickets will be available for download on June 12th.
