PINK FLOYD's DAVID GILMOUR Talks Of Gdansk Album And Possible Future Material
August 24, 2008, 16 years ago
According to PINK FLOYD fan-site Brain-damage.co.uk, DAVID GILMOUR has been talking to Billboard about his upcoming Live In Gdansk release, and talked about what possibilities may lie ahead. He told them: "The original intention was to make a live album out of the whole tour, selecting different songs from different nights, but so many of the best ones just seemed to come from that last night in Gdansk that in the end we thought, 'Oh, we'll just do the whole thing from Gdansk."
David reiterated that "the thought of going back to Pink Floyd just doesn't interest me," but hasn't ruled out future new solo material, once the Gdansk release is done and dusted. "I've got a lot of material left over from ['On An Island'], so... I've got a lot of start points. That starts to get the creative juices flowing and you start then to write new material. So it's good to have bits of music to start working on, but how many of them I will actually use and how much new stuff will come up is anyone's guess. That's in the lap of the gods."
