Primal Fear recently announced the release of their new studio album, entitled Rulebreaker. The album is scheduled for a January 29th, 2016 release. A video teaser is streaming below:

Although the band played a few shows with Aquiles Prieste (ex-Angra), including the Knockout Festival and their 70000 Tons Of Metal performances, it was announced back in June that Francesco Jovino is now the Primal Fear drummer. Jovino has spent a decade behind the kit for U.D.O. After two years touring with Primal Fear, founding guitarist Tom Naumann rejoins the band as an official, full member. Magnus Karlsson remains a member of the band and co-writes the new album with the band.

The recordings of the new Primal Fear album started in mid-July at Hansen Studio in Denmark with producer Mat Sinner and engineer Jacob Hansen. At the time 12 songs were already written, in pre-production.

The band posted the following message to their fans: "To all Primal Fear and Aquiles Priester FANS around the world! We knew it would be a hard mission for us, but we’ve given it a try and unfortunately, to combine our present obligations and our future endeavors, it has become impossible to have a cohesive band together. Due to our schedules and the distance between the continents we have decided to part ways. From both sides we do not have any regrets at all and we are very happy that we have tried our best to make it happen. We are all still good friends and we wish all the best for each other in the future.”
