Beginning on January 1st, 2011, Pure Steel Records from Schwarzenberg/Ore Mountains/Saxony and Karthago Records from Possenhofen/Bayern will unite their businesses.

According to a press release: "Despite of the difficult market environment we already decided some time ago to combine our forces in order to offer our customers a comprehensive national and international range of metal and rock for fair prices. In this process our product range shall be greatly expanded. Everything old school, of course."

For optimal business implementation Karthago Records becomes a sub-label of Pure Steel Records and therefore an important part of the joint strategy. Stefan Riermaier is now working as contract & sales manager at Pure Steel Records.

Andreas Lorenz (general & product manager) and Stefan Riermaier (contract & sales manager) comment on merger: "The labels have worked together in a friendly relationship for a long time, so what could be more natural than to use the positives of both sides. We are confident that the merger is the only correct way for the future. "

The fusion is accompanied by some new structures. Lead by the well-known Karthago Records the following sub-labels will be started on January 1st:

* Pure Prog Records

* Pure Underground Records

* Pure Rock Records

Pure Steel Records themselves continue to do what the name stands for more than 4 years: releasing albums that deliver to 100% of what the name implies: metal, metal, metal - old school and without compromise.
