December 5, 2013, 10 years ago
In early February, 2011, ROBERT PLANT & THE BAND OF JOY took the stage at Nashville's historic War Memorial Auditorium for a career-spanning set during a rare Tennessee blizzard. The LED ZEPPELIN frontman had assembled the group, which includes singer Patty Griffin and guitarist Buddy Miller, the previous year.
The performance – encompassing Zeppelin cuts, solo material, traditional songs and new originals – was later broadcast in part on public television's Live From The Artists Den series. The episode premiers in the UK this Sunday, December 8th, airing for the first time on Sky Arts at 9 PM.

In 2003, Plant travelled to Mali to perform at the famed Festival In The Desert alongside ALI FARKA TOURÉ and TINARIWEN. Zirka is an 8-part, mostly self-shot documentary by Robert chronicling his experiences.
Says Plant: "It was a journey of revelation - one of the most illuminating and humbling experiences of my life."
