ROBOT MONSTER ARMY, led by ex-WARGASM frontman Bob Mayo, has made its second album, entitled Monsterpiece, available in a limited-edition CD version. The CD is available at this location.

YAAG Records has only produced 100 copies of the CD. The digital version of the album is still available via all major digital media outlets.

Monsterpiece was released digitally in November of 2011. Both songs from the extremely rare ‘No Big Deal’ single are included as bonus tracks on both versions of the album. As for guest appearances on the second album, members of Boston metal stalwarts MELIAH RAGE and STEEL ASSASSIN have contributed, among others.

“There are lots of bands out there doing ‘retro-metal’ records,” said Mayo, at the time of the album‘s release. “They’re going for either that early ‘70s thing or the NWOBHM thing. Robot Monster Army is aiming for the period in between; like 1975 to 1979. We were all inspired by the metal that happened while the whole punk rock thing was going on. There are so many great records from that period by UFO, JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS, BLUE OYSTER CULT, RAINBOW, AC/DC, RUSH, CHEAP TRICK, THIN LIZZY… That’s what this project has always been about. This one‘s a bit more ‘metal‘ than the first one, for sure.”

As for lyrical themes, Monsterpiece contains songs about the KISS Army, the Marvel Comics character Black Bolt, and the Boston Bruins, as well as instrumental tribute to the history of Godzilla.
