ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT is taking their Rockin’ Recovery Tour on the road during the month of September, 2011 for National Recovery Month (aka Recovery Month).

A press release about the trek reads as follows:

September is a national observance in order to educate people across America on the fact that treatment works! To make people aware that with appropriate services and supports, people struggling with substance use disorder and/or mental health concerns can live a healthy, rewarding life. While honoring those that are in recovery and help spread the message that recovery supports are essential to overall health – “that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.” Recovery month is now celebrating 22 years and RSSS is proud to join the other organizations involved with Recovery Month by becoming a Planning Partner. The Rockin’ Recovery Tour another way for RSSS to bring awareness to the disease of addiction and celebrate recovery; a rockin’ sober event that spreads HOPE for all those affected by addiction! The performance will feature guest musicians from our CD, Serenity and more with performances symbolizing addiction and recovery including songs from Serenity and brief skits or readings. This performance is appropriate for all ages! Reaching for the stars, these rockin' ruffian twin brothers are on a mission to rebrand sobriety by creating opportunities for others to engage in those necessary conversations about the impact of substance use. While one was struggling with a drug addiction that nearly killed him, the other was struggling with what to do about it. This was the dynamic between Super Star and Rock Star for nearly 18 years. Their story is about twin brothers finally finding serenity through sobriety and making responsible choices.

Together they have created Rockstar Superstar Project which is about inspiring and encouraging others to believe in themselves and to dream catch; to make responsible choices by waking up every day and “doing the right thing”. That Super Star says “will always get you to the right place!” All of the projects through RSSS are based upon the idea of rebranding sobriety!
