RockPages.gr recently spoke with SEVEN WITCHES guitarist/founder Jack Frost about the band's new album, Call Upon The Wicked. An excerpt from the interview is available below:

Rockpages.gr: The new record marks a return to the more traditional Seven Witches sound after a modern “intermission” with “Deadly Sins”. Was it a conscious effort by your side?

Jack Frost: "It was a decision that was made more on the progression of the record. It was just the direction the record was taking. Alan’s vocals were really powerful and cool, and those records were in your face and amazing. James is more the 80’s metal vocalist, and with that comes a more traditional metal sound. Both sounds are great, and fitting to the records they are on."

Rockpages.gr: James Rivera returned to the band after a five year absence. Why did you choose to reunite with him and how important was his input in the compositions of Call Upon The Wicked?

Jack Frost: "As I have stated to other people who have asked the same thing, the Mexican DIO that is James Rivera and I had much unfinished business (laughs). We work very well with each other, and are totally able to bounce ideas off each other. He had a lot of input on this record lyrically and vocally, but then he let the big guns handle the rest."

According to a recent band update, "the songs range from classic JUDAS PRIEST to a touch of RAINBOW - there's even an epic with female vocals, a new step in their chapter. The record is a bit of a concept, talking about how women have been the decline of men since the beginning of time."
