SHAKRA To Release Sixth Album On September 11th; Tracklisting Revealed
August 28, 2007, 17 years ago
German hard rockers SHAKRA will release their sixth album, entitled Infected, via Locomotive Records on September 11th.
Ever since it's promising 1998 self-titled debut, Shakra has stayed true to its classic hard rock approach. The 1999 Moving Force follow-up saw the band tour with GREAT WHITE and URIAH HEEP. The breakthrough, though, came with 2001’s Power Ride when vocalist Mark Fox replaced the ailing Pete Wiedmer. And Fox’s imprint was all over 2003’s Rising (the band’s first on both the Swedish and German album charts).
Still, Shakra, more than anything else, is a live band. Its 2005 appearance at the prestigious Bang Your Head open-air festival was a cause for celebration. That year’s Fall (resulting in Shakra’s debut on the album chart in Switzerland), featured the hit single 'Chains Of Temptation', the video of which caused controversy when singer Fox was seen in the clip giving himself a heroin injection.
Now comes Infected and the stakes couldn’t be higher. The tracklisting: 'Make Your Day', 'Inferno', 'The One', 'Playing With Fire', 'Dance With Madness', 'Love Will Find A Way', 'Vertigo', 'The Conquest', 'Higher Love', 'Cardiophobia', 'Look At Me', 'The Other Side', 'Acheron’s Way'.
