Drummer Andrey Ischenko (BLAZE BAYLEY, PAUL DIANNO) has joined Missouri-based progressive, thrash-tinged power metal band SHATTERED DESTINY. For the band's Fragments EP, the studio percussion was performed by Mark Zonder.

When asked about Andrey joining the band, vocalist/keyboardist JJ had this to say: “Andrey comes from an amazing background of bands. He has played with bands that are non-metal to extreme death metal. He brings with him the skills and attitude to be an integral part of Shattered Destiny. We know we needed a top drummer to fill Mark’s shoes and Andrey is that man.”

Formed in early 2011, Shattered Destiny is a progressive power/thrash band created by lead singer/songwriter JJ. With long-time friend and lead guitarist Roman Guryev the foundation of the band was formed. Both come from a long history or musical education in many different styles. The five-piece outfit combines many influences in order to create a new distinct sound. The unique blend of musical influences forms a niche within the metal world.

The band’s initial demo, Fragments was recorded in Gothenburg, Sweden in early 2012 and received many acclaims. The band has been features on BBC in several countries. Tracks from Fragments have received national radio play in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, United Kingdom, Hungary and Austria in additional to a large amount of internet based radio play.

Shattered Destiny is planning to enter the studio this winter to record their full-length follow up and is seeking a label home.
