SKELETONWITCH's Breathing The Fire Scorches The Billboard Charts
October 21, 2009, 15 years ago
SKELETONWITCH's new effort, Breathing The Fire, sold 3,500 copies in its first week of release, landing at number #151 on the Billboard Top 200 and #2 on the magazine's Heatseekers Chart.
The album was recorded in Seattle with acclaimed producer Jack Endino (NIRVANA, SOUNDGARDEN, HIGH ON FIRE). The band spent the last month on the road with CHILDREN OF BODOM and are now supporting THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER alongside TOXIC HOLOCAUST and labelmates TRAP THEM. They will then head to Europe for a co-headline tour with Toxic Holocaust and GOATWHORE.
Guitarist Scott Hedrick said, "We're completely fucking stoked! It's always nice to see hard work come to fruition. I never thought Skeletonwitch would end up on the Billboard charts! We knocked Uncle Kracker out of his spot from last week! Ha!
In all honesty, though, it's still just a number, and we do this shit because we love it and couldn't do any of this without the support of metal fans. That means the most to us! That support is truly appreciated! See you out on the road!"
The band's new video, for the track 'Repulsive Salvation', can be seen below. Skeletonwitch filmed the video in Brooklyn, N.Y. at the Lucky 13 Saloon with director David Brodsky.
