SLASH and classic GUNS N' ROSES bandmates Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke stunned the 27th Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame crowd last weekend by delivering blistering versions of GN'R gems 'Mr. Brownstone', 'Sweet Child Of Mine', and 'Paradise City', on which they were joined by vocalist MYLES KENNEDY. He has been the lead vocalist for Slash’s band for over two years and co-wrote all of the songs with Slash on his much-anticipated second solo studio album, Apocalyptic Love, which drops on May 22nd via Dik Hayd International, distributed through EMI.

“The rest of the guys/inductees suggested we get Myles to sing,” says Slash, “and I thought it was a great idea.”

Slash then joined in with fellow inductees past and present for the night’s all-star finale jam of STEVIE WONDER’s 'Higher Ground', which included the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, Ron Wood and Kenney Jones (FACES), Billy Joe Armstrong (GREEN DAY), GEORGE CLINTON and FUNKADELIC guitarist Michael Hampton.

“It turned out to be a very special evening,” says, Slash.

The 27th Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame will air on HBO Saturday, May 5th at 9 PM, EDT/PDT.

'Far And Away'

'Shots Fired'

For the new album, Slash - along with and his bandmates Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass) - have teamed with producer Eric Valentine, who also produced the Slash disc.

"It is very live," Slash told BraveWords.com recently about Apocalyptic Love. "That was the intention. I mean, I've always tried to be as close to live as possible. I don't think I've ever been involved in a record that I was responsible or part responsible for that didn't have live bass and drums. And sometimes rhythm guitar. The issue with me is that I don't like wearing headphones. So whenever I play with a band during basic tracks I would always go and redo the guitars in the control room where it sounds bigger and natural. So we finally managed to figure out a way to do the guitars live on this record where I could play in the room with the guys in the band. Kind of like a room within the room where I could listen to monitors in there and not have to wear headphones and still be able to see the guys. This is the first record I've done where all the guitars are live. So that's pretty cool. It's definitely been a positive all-round experience. In this configuration it's been really exciting and a good extension for what we've been doing the last year and a half anyway."

BBC Radio 2 is rocking out for six weeks with Slash. The rock music legend is presenting six episodes of the music that changed his life and inspired him to pick up a Les Paul. From AC/DC and AEROSMITH to METALLICA and MOTÖRHEAD, Slash presents an hour of heavy riffs, screaming solos, crunching guitars, and soaring vocals. Interspersed with stories of rock 'n' roll decadence, anecdotes from the back of the tour bus, and an infectious genuine love of the genre, Slash explains how these artists and songs changed his life and fuelled the soundtrack to his world.

The high-octane tunes include AC/DC, JUDAS PRIEST, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, ROSE TATTOO and SCORPIONS. Plus Slash reminisces about his time with his former band, Guns N' Roses.

The first show was broadcast last Thursday, April 12 and can be streamed at this location.
