hot flashes news

Slipped Disc Records of Valley Stream, NY closes its doors today (April 19th) after 25 years of supporting heavy metal, hardcore and rock music.

Longtime customer Charles Florio has sent BW&BK; the following note about the closing: "I’ve been shopping there since the store opened and made my last visit to the store this afternoon. I would like to thank Owner Mick Schutzman for all of the great times I had at his store. I met METALLICA, SLAYER, EXODUS, ROB HALFORD and many other bands thanks to him and his store. I urge everybody who reads this post to visit as many Independed Record Stores as they can before their all gone due to the Internet buying and Illegal downloading . When SAXON wrote the song 'Denim And Leather', they were describing metal rising up and breaking out. The verse “Did you hang around your favorite record store” was exactly the way it was back then. It’s a shame it’s not that way anymore."
