SUSPERIA Set For Canarias Hard And Heavy Meeting

Norwegian thrashers SUSPERIA have issued further details of their previously announced appearance at this years Canarias Hard and Heavy Meeting which takes place at Maspalomas, Gran Canaria in the Canary Isles on December 5th and 6th. The band have been confirmed as headliners on Saturday, December 6th. Other acts set to appear at the event include VICIOUS ART, INFEKTOR and ESCLAVITUD.
Canarias Hard and Heavy Meeting is organised by Helvette Magazine and Scream Magazine, both from Norway. It was originally aimed at Scandinavian metal fans as a get-away from their notoriously dark days of winter. However the opportunity to have a metal filed sunshine winter break has been gaining interest from further afield. As a result the magazine is organising vacations to the event, from various countries between December 3rd - 10th.
Susperia are currently working on the follow up to their 2007 release Cut From Stone. The band have been working continuously throughout the year and pre-production is now nearing completion on approximately ten songs. Commenting on the work to date, SUSPERIA
recently stated that, "Our writing sessions have had a good vibe going on, with input coming from all of us. We've disciplined ourselves more this time round and we're happy with the way it's going. It's a mix of hard and fast songs with some nice touches of melody."
A tentative release is scheduled for early 2009.
Susperia released their fourth studio album, Cut From Stone, in 2007 through the TABU label in Europe and Candlelight Records in
the USA. It entered the Norwegian chart at #18 and was the #1 most added album on the influential CMJ Loud Rock and FMQB radio charts in the US. Cut From Stone was recorded at Strand Studio, Oslo, Norway during 2006. The mix was completed by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork) at Dug Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden, with the production handled by Susperia and Marius Strand.
