THE ALMIGHTY To Play Fundraiser For Family Of Former Manager
March 25, 2009, 15 years ago
Long-running UK rockers THE ALMIGHTY have issued the following update:
"The Almighty will play a special one-off fundraising show with NEW MODEL ARMY for the family of their former Manager, Tommy Tee, who tragically passed away last December. The show will take place on June 20th at The Cheese & Grain in Frome, Somerset (UK). All proceeds will go to Tommy's widow and three children.
Tommy Tee managed The Almighty from 1988 to 1993 and as a mark of respect, the lineup of Stump, Ricky Warwick, Pete Friesen and Floyd London will be picking their setlist from their three studio albums from that period - Blood, Fire & Love, Soul Destruction and Powertrippin'.
The Almighty's drummer and founding member Stumpy Munroe comments on this undoubtedly sad occasion: "We hope to produce a very special show on behalf of the family and friends of our departed friend and Manager, Tommy. NMA and The Almighty appearing together for the first time, should be an interesting mix that I am sure Tommy would have approved of. We hope for a great turnout for this special one-off and are looking forward to getting out rather old heads 'round some rather old tunes."
