THE POODLES Singer Jakob Samuel To JON LORD Symphony Show In Sofia
October 13, 2010, 14 years ago
Jon Lord, legendery organist from DEEP PURPLE and WHITESNAKE, has honoured THE POODLES singer Jakob Samuel with an invitation to join him on his own show An Evening With Jon Lord And New Symphony Orchestra in Sofia, capitol of Bulgaria, on October 30th.
The repertoire will be Deep Purple songs in symphonic arrangements, mixed with solo material that Jon Lord has written and released. Since he left the band in 2002 Jon Lord has toured the world with specially invited soloists.
Jakob Samuel comments: " "The first real concert I saw was Whitesnake, 1984. I was fourteen years old and Jon Lord entered the stage and tipped the organ, the thunder filled the hall and he played like a god, he still does! It's of course a great honour and pleasure to sing with your childhood hero, a musician who kept his vitality and quality over the years. The Poodles toured a lot of the European countries but Bulgaria is a blank spot on the map so it's very exiting."
