THE PROPHECY Issue Post-China Update
May 5, 2010, 14 years ago
UK metallers THE PROPHECY have issued the following update:
"The Prophecy have returned from their weekend away in China. The band played two festivals, Camping Festival and Midi festival and also appeared on Central China Television.Reviews and pictures are starting to appear online with these two reports so far: LittleTroubleInBigChina.net, BeijingDaze.com.
The Camping Festival was organised by the local government in Hebei province and was filmed for Central China TV. Unused to organising festivals of this kind the event was heavily policed with both police and army prescence. When The Prophecy began their set we also had the pleasure of fully riot geared soldiers mobilising across the grounds. Fortunately the authorities seemed to realise that the crowd were just enjoying themselves and there were no incidents. The band concluded their performance with a post gig 30 minute interview for CCTV,
Midi Fest was a much more relaxed affair with Midi School volunteers taking the place of the Police. The festival was a very well organised affair with four stages accross Haidan Park. Complete with Flea market and street vendors the festival attracted 20,000 music fans. The band played a 45 minute set on the song stage to a fantastic crowd that demanded an encore and afterwards the band were deluged for autographs and photo requests.
The band would like to thank Jason Tang, Chang Liu, Yang Yu, Ankhor Sharma and our helpers from both the camping fest and Midi.
Photos will be posted on our MySpace and also keep an eye on our Facebook page for regular updates."
