hot flashes news through the eyes of the dead

South Carolina's THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD are currently completing new songs for the band's second full-length, the follow-up to 2005's Bloodlust. The new album, already dubbed Malice, will again feature artwork from Paul Romano (MASTODON, THE RED CHORD), while this time around, the band will enlist Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, ex-MORBID ANEL) for production, engineering and mixing with Alan Douches (UNEARTH, SHADOWS FALL) of West West Side Music mastering the effort. The band will head down to Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Fla. February 16th and wrap up recording March 15th.

"The new material is coming along nicely," guitarist Justin Longshore said. "The songs are a lot more mature and the music is much faster, aggressive, and way more pissed off. I think fans are going to really love it. We are really pumped to work with Erik Rutan on Malice. We've never worked with a producer and I don't think we could have chosen anyone better; we really admire the work he's done in Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal and also the engineering efforts he's produced for Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, and Premonitions of War, among others. After we hit the studio, we plan to dominate the world once again and tour throughout the year. We will be playing a lot of new places including Europe. 2007 is going to be an exciting year for TTEOTD."

Since the release of Bloodlust, Through The Eyes Of The Dead has stayed on the road for much of 2005 and 2006 including landing a slot on last year's Sounds of The Underground, supporting Unearth's headlining tour, and fronting the band's own highly-successful headlining tour with From A Second Story Window and labelmates THE ACACIA STRAIN and LIGHT THIS CITY among others. More details on the release of Malice including studio updates will be available shortly.
